You have every reason not to believe it, but you can wash kid leather gloves with gentle detergent. I bought some vintage ones a few years ago and thought I would take the risk and give them a wash. At first they went crunchy when they dried but quickly softened up. I have washed 3 different pairs now with no hint of a problem. I know its not generally advised but if it must be done then they won't get ruined honestly!
